Overview
This mandatory refresher course is designed to re-train and re-certify currently accredited Asbestos Inspectors. The curriculum focuses on a review of key inspection procedures, recent regulatory updates, and emerging health and safety information. Participants will refresh their knowledge of how to determine the presence, location, and quantity of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) in buildings, including hands-on practice with sampling techniques and the development of inspection reports. The course emphasizes the current standards and regulations set forth by the EPA, OSHA, and relevant state agencies.
Learning outcomes
- Apply current EPA, OSHA, and Michigan state regulations to inspection practice.
- Identify and safely sample suspect asbestos-containing materials (ACMs).
- Prepare a comprehensive and legally defensible inspection report.
- Understand professional limitations and legal responsibilities.
- Maintain annual accreditation as a certified Asbestos Inspector.
