Overview
This hands-on AutoCAD training program is designed for beginners with little or no prior AutoCAD experience. Students and professionals in architecture, engineering, or construction fields will gain foundational CAD skills for residential drafting and design applications. The course covers the AutoCAD interface, file management, 2D drawing tools, layers, dimensions, and plotting — progressing to a complete residential floor plan project by the end of the program. Classes run on Saturdays starting January 2026. A Certificate of Completion is awarded for each course.
Learning outcomes
- Completed set of 2D drawings demonstrating use of core AutoCAD tools.
- Complete residential floor plan with annotations and dimensions.
- Elevation and section sheets ready for plotting.
- Final plotted drawing set formatted for submission.
- Annotated plan with layers, dimensions, and title block.
- Printed (or PDF) layout ready for presentation or submission.
